The Friends of Madison County Library are people like you. We're a dedicated group that values the library as a vital community resource for all of us, regardless of our age, employment or gender. Sometimes we organize fundraisers to help support a specific library need. Other times we just "show up"... to help the library staff put on a program, like Dr. Seuss' birthday party. Many Friends simply support the library through their annual dues, while others contribute their time. Basically, we do what we can.
Over the years, Friends has:
- Co-sponsored the Children's Summer Reading Program
- Purchased new iPads and computers for patron use in the Library
- Revitalized the Library grounds
- Acquired a variety of audio/visual equipment
- Funded the "Read With Me" program for at-risk children
- Co-sponsored the Adult Winter Reading Program
- Upgraded the library's security system
- Provided teaching materials for the READ Program, helping adults improve their reading skills
and more... We have a lot in the works and many plans for the future.
About Our Members
Friends of the Madison County Library members come from every background, every age group, and every interest level you can imagine. While most members call Madison County their home (many in Marshall), others live outside the county. And a few even reside in other states. But we all have one thing in common... our love of the Madison County Library, and our desire to help the library continue to be a valuable, vital resource for the community.
Please consider supporting your library through the Friends of Madison County Library. Your tax-deductible membership dues or donation go a long way toward supporting library programs.
Maybe you'd like to make a donation, but not join Friends. Perhaps you want to join, but not actively participate. Or you may want to attend monthy meetings, but not serve on a committee. Or you might decide to become totally involved, serving as an officer, managing a fundraising program or working on a particular event. Whatever role you choose, you will be welcomed and appreciated.

What We Do
As mentioned above, the Friends of the Madison County Library provides support for ongoing and "one-of-a-kind" programs at the Madison County Library. We do this through participation in these programs, and by providing funding as needed.
One of our goals with fundraising activities, however, is to not only provide financial support to the library, but to also offer interesting, educational and fun events for the Madison County community. With that in mind, past fundraising events have focused on:
- Book sales
- Author's luncheons
- Silent auctions
- Plant sales
- Holiday raffles
... and other activities that are enjoyed by the community throughout the year.
In addition, Friends has planned and sponsored interesting and enjoyable activities that are open to all members of the community, including a harp concert, the Explore Madison County series, coffees and other presentations.
